Access for All Students: Universal Design for Learning and Common Core FILLING

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

This session is now FULL. Please DO NOT add this session to your schedule; ample space is AVAILABLE in other sessions during this time period.

Students of all abilities should be able to access the Common Core State Standards. When implementing CCSS and/or state-level standards, school communities should consider the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework. Universal Design for Learning is a set of principles for curriculum development that give all individuals equal opportunities to learn. UDL provides a blueprint for creating instructional goals, methods, materials, and assessments that work for everyone, using flexible approaches that can be customized and adjusted for individual needs. UDL also reduces barriers in instruction, provides appropriate accommodations, supports and challenges and maintains high achievement expectations for all students, including students with disabilities and students who are limited English proficient. You'll learn about UDL - and how to utilize it - in this highly-applicable workshop.
